My Mom was my primary parent. She was a child of the depression and the youngest of four children. In the 1950’s, she moved from NY to California and experienced her technicolor moment - escaping dark, dreary Long Island for the sunshine and glamour of Southern California. She filled my childhood with colorful, fantastical images. Most Saturdays, we went to the movies. Disneyland was always one of her favorite destinations. And there were always lots of books.
